Adams Research Initiative, LLC believes that donations shouldn't only be available for one-time use. A donation should be put to good use for many years to come. With that in mind, we believe using that
donation to generate revenue keeps that donation alive in perpetuity. We accomplish this with the purchase of securities and making use of banking products. The donation itself is never actually "spent"; only
its generated revenue is spent. This cycle means that funding revenue will never run out; however the amount of revenue generated will need to be raised to a level that funds research in a timely manner.
Our financial model is as follows: 1) All donations received immediately get invested in income generating securities on the stock market or banking products. 2) Revenue generated from these investments will be split 20% / 80%. The 20% will be reinvested to increase future revenue generation. The 80% will be allocated to research initiatives selected by the research team. 3) Should any of the 80% remain after funding, it will be set aside for one of two possibilities. It can be reinvested for future research funding, or it can be donated to a research team(s) outside of Adams Research Initiative, LLC. This decision will also be made solely by the research team. We do not expect this to be a priority until stock market investments are continuously generating more revenue than can be appropriately used for research within Adams Research Initiative, LLC. Larger research companies have a team of investors backing their every request. This, however, comes with a downside: loss of control. We want the research team to be able to pursue whatever path is best for the current research project; instead of putting profits first. Having an investor making decisions for profit could derail a project or steer it away from beneficial outcomes. And, at the end of the day, we want every project, upon completion, to be made freely available; not charge for profit.
